Math Tutoring

Hello! My name is Rosie Gearhart. My students call me Miss Rosie. I have extensive teaching experience in numerous subjects and grade levels, but I especially enjoy teaching math. I have worked in a charter school as a para-professional, at a hybrid homeschool program as a middle school math teacher, been the lead teacher at a micro-school for teen girls who have been rescued from sex trafficking, and I homeschooled my three children from K-12. I also qualify as a Step-Up provider for 5th-9th grade mathematics.

If your child is struggling with math, I can help! I am well-versed in how to help those with dyscalculia as well as those who simply find math confusing and frustrating. Students come to my house (in Lee County, Florida), and we use lots of math manipulatives, games, and visual representations to learn math from Kindergarten level through Algebra.
Usually, students who struggle with math are missing foundational understanding and don’t have strong number sense. They may also have processing difficulties, have trouble seeing patterns, struggle to focus, and have performance anxiety. I will assess what level your child is at and what gaps there are that need to be filled and then patiently work with him or her to build mathematical intuition and proficiency. I can assign homework if you would like, either customized online homework or math games you can play together at home. Doing this can help your child progress faster.
Please email (tutoring@educationunboxed.com) or text (239.565.7674) me to inquire about available time slots. I look forward to working with your student!
